Three New Zealand ‘kidlit’ authors – picture book writer and illustrator Gavin Bishop, junior fiction and picture book author Melinda Szymanik and Young Adult author Tania Roxborogh – talk about what it’s really like to publish books for young people in New Zealand, and the world, today.

They are joined by University of Canterbury College of Education’s John McKenzie to discuss the role of literature in a child’s life and whether children’s books and their writers get the credit they deserve.
